A Sound Beginning: Chicago began as an educational resource designed to help families appreciate the journey that begins when bringing a new dog home. It has grown into a comprehensive behavioral training program serving the greater Chicagoland area and beyond.

Our mission is to keep pets safe, secure, and thriving in their homes by empowering the people who love them most.

We proudly collaborate with local veterinarians and veterinary behaviorists to provide thoughtful, ethical support when clinical-level concerns arise.

We believe behavior is communication.

When a pet is struggling, they aren’t being “bad” — they’re responding to their environment, experiences, and emotions. Our role is to help you understand what your pet is communicating and guide you in shaping behavior through reinforcement and trust.
