Cassie Williams
KPA-CTP
Member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.

Cassie has loved animals since childhood. Her parents let her bring home almost whatever she wanted...a puppy from a neighbor’s litter, fish, mice, birds, tadpoles. All throughout high school and during breaks from college, she worked at a local aquarium and pet supply store. Helping people with their animals has always been a calling of hers.
Cassie continued to have different types of fur kids as an adult, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, and birds. Her passion for positive reinforcement dog training developed more than 10 years ago as she worked with trainers from A Sound Beginning to help her dog-reactive wheaten terrier, Finnegan.
She also went through the foundations program with her “foster-fail” Cairn Terrier, Daphne. Cassie strongly believes that training animals with positive reinforcement, based in science, is the best way to forge a trusting relationship that benefits both ends of the leash.
Cassie has Masters Degrees in both Social Work and Education. In 2022, she finished a 32-year career in education, where her roles ranged from School Social Worker to Assistant Superintendent of Special Education. She earned the dog training certification of Karen Pryor Academy-Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP) in 2019 and continues her education by reading and attending conferences. Working with A Sound Beginning Program as a trainer feels like coming home to her, and she is grateful to be associated with a company that holds the same values she does.
Cassie loves returning to her roots of helping people with their animals, at an even deeper and more meaningful level. Cassie shares her life with her wife of 27 years, Jenna, as well as her dogs Finnegan and Daphne. She enjoys reading, working in her yard, hiking and traveling the country with her truck and travel trailer.
