We were new dog owners in 2021; neither of us had owned a dog since we were kids. We adopted a sweetheart of a dog from a local rescue, but she had some serious anxiety issues. We were told about Steve Frost and A Sound Beginning by our vet’s office. We were thrilled to find him, as we had tried another dog trainer previously, and we didn’t like his punitive tactics, so when we met Steve, we knew we had found the right fit for us. A Sound Beginning only uses positive reinforcement training, which we really appreciated.
Our girl is now five years old and loving life – and we love her! A Sound Beginning has helped us understand how her genetics contribute to her nervousness, how to get her comfortable around new people, and how to train her to be a fun-loving dog who listens to us. She is an important part of our family, and we are so glad we found Steve and A Sound Beginning. We continue with maintenance visits from Steve, because not only does Piper love him, but it also helps keep us on track as dog parents. We would recommend A Sound Beginning to anyone looking for fear-free training with a great team.
