Veronica is a Certified Veterinary Technician, Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner, and Fear Free Certified Professional.
Veronica grew up in the northern Chicago suburbs. She never thought she would end up working with animals. As such, after college, she spent several years in the corporate world. But eventually she realized it wasn’t her passion, and she decided she would go looking for it.
She found veterinary medicine in 2008. It was love from the start. She went back to school and obtained her license as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She also rescued her first dog, Toby, a maltipoo with diabetes and a plethora of behavioral issues. Toby was the catalyst that started her journey into veterinary behavior and training as a pet owner.
has extensive experience in veterinary medicine, especially with internal medicine and emergency/critical care. In 2021 she transitioned to veterinary behavior as a Veterinary Nurse with Insight Animal Behavior Services. In her role she supports families navigating the treatment plan outlined by a board-certified veterinary behaviorist. Her continuing education throughout this period reflects her commitment to professional growth.
Veronica is dedicated to enhancing the human-animal bondthrough enrichment and positive reinforcement training. She also understands firsthand the fatigue human caregivers can sometimes experience when living with their behaviorally challenged dogs.
She believes in meeting each dog’s needs in a way that’s realistic and manageable for the pet parent. She looks forward to empowering clients to help their dog be their best dog self.
In her spare time, Veronica enjoys functional fitness, reading, and spending time with her family.
